THE REPUBLIC && THE EMPIRE
The Empire and the Republic, two sides that have seemed to divide the galaxy between them equally without no means of aggression. Though their rule vastly differentiated from each other, no hostility ever rose, as both forces seemed to have the for populous support. And while this peaceful control continued, everything seemed to flow perfectly.
THE JEDI && THE SITH
Outside these two forces, the Jedi have maintained their reputation as peacekeepers, while the Sith still haunted the dreams of many children. The Jedi, clearly at an advantage in number, kept the Sith at bay, watching their every move, though little did they know of many units rising through the ranks of the Empire. Their movements were so subtle that not even a hired inquisitor would notice the actions. As for the main forces of the Sith, a strict eye had been sitting on them by the Jedi, who gave the warning that any hostile actions would result in a full on invasion to exterminate them.
THE MANDALORIAN
Floating around other parts of the galaxy were the remnants of the Mandalorians. An extinct race that was resurrected into a community of proud soldiers, now nothing but guns-for-hire. Though some rule does occur on the moon Dxun of Onderon and another clan on Mandalore, most of the members to the culture have strongly set their independence. This macho behavior, and struggle to follow orders from their own kind have strongly injured their forces, and as of now it appears that the Mandalorians will never recover from their fall so many years ago. It doesn't help having the conflict over power with the two vying clans either.
THE CRIME SYNDICATE
The galactic crime ring also presents itself as another member of the unfortunate events of the peace. What used to be common thugs and rulings of separate leaders, has evolved so much more. Realizing their strength together, many large members of the crime population have come together to form the Crime Syndicate. Working as an independent nation, they have multiplied their strength by tenfold. With a council established, the Crime Syndicate works in synchronized attacks, and seem almost uncontrollable. However, they realize their position, and don't require control of no more than they have, Nar Shaddaa. Their greed comes in pleasure and with the large amount of money and resources they steal, it is pleasure they have.
THE TIDES TURN
With a sudden movement of the Sith, the sides have turned. Finally with many strong positions inside the domain of Empire, they forced the nation to commence a surprise attack on the Republic, overtaking many planets in the attack. Kashyyyk and Naboo seemed to be the biggest targets, and they were also the first to fall. Naboo being a strong political and military resource of the Republic, has now been put under control of the Empire, and direct control of the Sith. Also in the surprise attack, the Empire attacked the jedi space station orbiting Korriban, freeing the Sith on that planet to join forces with the Empire, and finally work on reproducing their strength.
WHAT HAPPENS AND WHERE YOU COME IN
A year has passed since that action, and now the forces have fully engaged in war. With the Republic finally recovered from the sneak attack, there is no clear winner. Though the jedi seemed to have such an overwhelming force before, the Sith's investments in the Crime Syndicates slave trade has brought them hundreds of force users, setting the forces equal to the jedi.
