Name: Van Kyosei
Alias: Homura Sensui (The name he'll be going by)
Origin: Yamasaki Village
Age: 19
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 110
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon
Allignment: Good
Weapon:
Ranma Ryuutai:
A katana around 7' in length and the width of a grown man's bicep. The katana shines a beautiful silver colour, but reflects different colours occasionally, depending on the mood of the user. The blade itself is made out of a substance known as "HeartStone", which gets progressively stronger the more it is attacked. The hilt has no guard to it though, meaning that a strike to his hands is a near sure way to knock it out of his hands. Ryuutai is large enough on its own, but it requires the user's own soul to really work. Depending on the resolve of the weilder, it changes shape and size to fit the situation. Ryuutai used to be a bushido-style sword while Sensui's father was in possession of it, and it had been throughout the family's generations. However, on becoming a smaller katana when given to Sensui, people began to worry that he couldn't follow on in the style.
Van learned how to use the katana quickly due to the place he was brought up. Constant gang wars happened in his backwater village, and he knew fine well all the different types of techniques and dirty moves that his opponents could use against him. His style became completely mixed, leaving no room for misjudgements in defence and attack. His general style is fluid and he can switch between different stances like the flow of water. Van learned this technique from his fights with countless people when he had to go and take over gangland territory under water. The mission took him a month to complete, and at such a young age, he took to swimming in water with relative ease. When he got back on land, it was even better. He no longer had the problems of water resistance to worry about, and the fluid motion of his techniques became well known throughout the continent, under the name of "Sensui".
Other weapons appear in the storyline.
Powers: Being a dragon, Van has a strange love for fire. He is instantly drawn towards heat and he loves to touch anything even remotely flammable. However, this love for fire doesn't come without some from of reward. He can breathe fire out of his mouth through a special gland that his race has that let out a form of gas from his body. Though it tends to be from his mouth he fires the blast, he can also expel the gas from the pores on his body and ignite it using the special wristband he wears. Rubbing his left hand across his right arm's wristband, he can ignite the gas and then use his powers to manipulate the flames around his hands, or anywhere on his body where it is needed.
Appearance: As an outlaw, Van has no idea what sort of clothes to wear on his travels. Van is incredibly handsome, the sort of guy that girls go crazy for the instant they see him. However, the only irritating thing about him is his smirk. He can instantly cause a fight just by moving the muscles around his lips slightly, a fight he usually doesn't mean to start and wins... But, still. He has short and partially spiky hair, he never usually takes care of his hair or any of his body for that matter. His hair is a dark purple-reddish colour and his eyes are an extremely shiny blue. The right side of his face is covered by his hair, that covers a horrific scar from his fight with Ruprecht. This particular scar was made at a time Van can't remember, and not even he knows what would happen if he used the power he can feel in it.
Despite the massive amount of body-pushing training Sensui does, his body is actually quite skinny. He wears a black leather cloak, and a simple black "dog-collar" around his neck. Underneath the cloak is a tight, dark purple shirt that has slight defence attributes attached to it. He wears 3 belts around his waist, all holding numerous knives and kunais and other similar throwing objects. His trousers are a dark shade of grey and he wears Ranma Ryuutai on his back.
Magic: Storyline...
Special Skills: Storyline...
Strengths: Amazingly fast and moves as fluid as water. He excels in hand-to-hand and other close range combat and can use fire to its full potential.
Weaknesses: Water in general. He may be profficient to it, but it slowly zaps at his life energy if he stays in it for too long. He also has a major weakness against long range techniques, and his trusting nature can sometimes leave him open for attack.
Bio: Van was born into a rather poor, but honest dojo-owning family deep in the wilderness of a small village. He was raised there, and learned his values from his parents as he trained to become a great fighter. He loved it in that village, he had countless friends and he was one of the most helpful little boys around the world. It was beautiful place, entirely secluded from the rest of the world. The people there could easily travel around and children could play without a single bit of worry. It was a typical and simple place, where nearly everyone knew each other. There were obviously trouble makers though. One of those was Van himself. He may have been helpful and very kind, but that didn't stop his hotblooded and vibrant nature to come out at times to show itself. He would find himself jumping from roof to roof, just to get away from a baker he stole bread from, even after he had helped carry the food around the place. He didn't take well to compliments, letting the rush of them flow to his head and putting on his typical mischeivious grin. He had a perfect reason to though, he never knew his mother. She had died of a disease when Van turned around a year old. He had seen other children walking with their mothers and having a great time. Van wished that he had his mother with him for those times, he was jealous when he saw other children getting scolded by their parents. Sure, he loved his father and grandparents more than anything, but he still felt like he had a huge part of himself that was missing.
This mischeivious demeanour he had turned out to be worth it in the end. When his friends backed out of a dare to peek into one of the girls of the village, he felt even more ready to show them up. When he climbed the tree to her window, he fell... Hard. The girl ran down to see him, and she yelled as hard as she could at him. She may have only been 5 years old, but she certainly knew how to put a man in his place. However, despite her yelling, she was healing him and wrap his cuts in bandages. Van looked at her and knew at that one point, She'd be the one he married. Merril, the most beautiful flower in all of Yamasaki.
They spent all their time together, he'd get up to mischeif, and she'd shout at him. But she was always there whenever he was hurt. Van and her were almost inseperable. Her influence soon rubbed off on him, and his attitude began to change.
But, it couldn't last... When she turned 10, her family decided to move to a larger city, in the hopes of more work. Van was devastated, but he had to prove to her that he was strong. He vowed that one day, they'd meet up again, and he'd be the strongest person in the universe. So that he could one day marry her.
However, after a few years, Van got caught up helping out some of the more "devious" members of the race. It wasn't long before he found himself training and becoming part-of, a full-fledged gang of dragons. They did all the typical gang stuff, stealing, hurting and generally being a complete nuisance. He had broken his ways of peace and soon became a complete rebel. However, this was only to people from outside of the village, and even then, he never actually hurt anyone out of spite, only out of fun. There began to be a problem though, his village was soon taken over by a group of Water creatures nearby, that attacked in the night, hurt and killed the dragons and then returned to their home, in the knowledge that dragons could never hope to even get near the water.
Van wasn't a coward though, he knew fine well that his village was in danger, and he wanted it to be perfect for when he returned with the girl he loved. His first true mission: Defeat the Water Dwellers.
Once underwater, Van was at a major disadvantage. Not only was the water freezing him and making his movements sluggish, he could barely swim as it was. But, being the person he was, he had instantly thrust himself into the deep end, and he was at a loss. It wasn't long before the Water Creatures came out to meet him. He didn't stand a chance, the speed of those people was amazing, and they wasted no time leaving him for dead. Van had little time to live, the water was beginning to really hurt his body, and his mind and sight were being dulled by the murkiness of the water. But, he could never give up... Not while someone he cared about was out there somewhere. He had made a promise... A promise he refused to break. It took him every last amount of strength he had to bring himself back up, but he never left the water. Instead, he pushed his mind, body and soul to the brink of death... And spent a month training underwater, only coming up slightly for air... Which the intervals that he needed to became shorter each time he did so. The people of the village had even dug him a grave and had his funeral, but he was still alive. He found the main town of the Water Dwellers and he looked at the people that came back with the dead bodies of some of his village. He was furious, but he just continued to smile. He couldn't get angry, he knew Merril wouldn't want him to. He span the blade around and used the dulled edge of the sword to fight. The water people may have had the advantage before, but... Even without the ability to breathe, he ran (Rather, Swam?) rings around his opponents. His movements were like dancing, the water would heat up and move to the way he wanted to. Even his fire technique managed to appear underwater for a short time. He completely wasted every fighter in that small village, but, he didn't kill a single one. Everything he was training to be would go to waste if he had... He wanted to grow up to become a man Merril would be proud to call her husband. He came to an agreement with the village elder, and, despite his young age (11) he managed to get them to live in peace with the dragons above ground. He became a hero in his village. His family was amazed at his abilities, and Van was beginning to grow up a bit finally.
However, he found himself missing something again, and he learned about a tournament on another continent. He didn't take long to say his goodbyes and left on his journey at the age of 12. He took nearly 3 months to reach his destination, and entered himself under the name of Homura Sensui... Or just "Sensui". He breezed through the tournament matches. His ability to move underwater was outstanding, and there was no water resistance to deal with on dry ground. He found himself continuously using the reverse side of the sword, he couldn't bring himself to kill anyone, not even in the so-called "Death Matches". When he reached the last few matches, the other fighters decided to leave. They were horrified that the officials had let a kid into the matches... So, Sensui, who had stayed, was moved to another block in the tournament, in the last month. He couldn't believe his luck at the person he found there; Merril, his one true love.
She was with another boy though, a young boy slightly older than Sensui named "Ruprecht". Sensui was really excited to meet up with Merril again, and was quick to become friends with this boy he could relate with. Both of them never knew their mothers, and they both had alot of inner confusion when it came to other races. However, they also shared one thing that kept them from becoming close. Their love for Merril. Sensui could tell that Ruprecht held a lot of contempt for him and his natural relationship with Merril. It made Sensui angry, how could some new guy burst onto the scene and tell HIM what to do? But, he kept it quiet and just smiled. He reached the finals of the tournament along with Ruprecht, and he wanted to show how his training had paid off to Merril. He had no idea what Ruprecht's reason for fighting was... But in the end, Sensui was the winner... Though, he wasn't conscious once the bell rang.
He awoke to find himself in a hospital bed a bit away from the city. He had heard people talking about a young girl that had been taken at the end of the match, and the fact that the city was no longer there. He knew that Merril had been taken instantly. He hated himself for it... He didn't care about the city, everything in his life revolved around the only girl in his life. He only knew to do one thing. He left without saying a word and started his main quest; Find out who took Merril... And Kill them.
